The German State Theatre is honored to invite you to the premiere of ”The Human Foolishness”, directed by Simona Vintilă, based on the story written by Ion Creangă. The event will take place Friday, 14^th of December 2018, 7.30PM, in the Great Hall.

How many types of stupidity are there? How does it register and what is the proper way of dealing with it? And, most of all, what are we going to do with the salt block? These are some questions which ” The Human Foolishness”, directed by Simona Vintilă, tries to answer. The play, inspired from the story written by Ion Creangă, dedicated to children, and performed with a modern approach, tells the story of a group of school kids who stage, according to their own understanding, the famous encounters of the traveler who discovers in his journeys bigger fools than the ones from his own village. Agreeable, funny, honest, genuine, rounded by the original music, and summed up by the pay-off: ”To be foolish is to be human, and it can be remedied.”

With: Dana Borteanu, Daniela Török, Isa Berger, Tatiana Sessler Toami, Simona Vintilă, Harald Weisz, Radu Brănici and Richard Hladik. Further more, the artistic team is comprised of Rareș Hontzu – assistant director; Zsolt Fehérvári – set and costumes; Cristian Ienciu – video montage; Alex Halka – original soundtrack.

Simona Vintilă was born 1973 in Sibiu. In 1997 she did her MA in English Studies at the West University Timisoara. In 2002 she graduated from the German section of the Music department of the West University Timisoara. Rasumovskaya, stage direction: Bernd Guhr (guest from Germany), 1999; Paula Razmann, in The Robbers, by Friedrich Schiller, stage direction: Clemens Bechtel (guest from Germany), 2000; Marlene, in The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant, by Rainer Werner Fassbinder, stage direction: Martin Baucks (guest from Germany), 2001; Kattrin, in Mother Courage and her Children, by Bertolt Brecht, stage direction: Victor Ioan Frunză (guest), 2001; Moritz, in Max and Moritz, by Wilhelm Busch, stage direction: Ida Jarcsek-Gaza, 2001; Edith Piaf, in Edith Piaf – My Sun is rising when the Night is falling, by Frank Geerk, stage direction: Alexandra Gandi, 2002; Mizi Schlager, in Flirtation, by Arthur Schnitzler, stage direction: Ulf Dückelmann, 2004; Caius Lucius, in Cymbeline, by William Shakespeare, stage direction: Alexander Hausvater, 2004; Celia Peachum, in The Threepenny Opera, by Bertolt Brecht, stage direction: Victor Ioan Frunză, 2006. In 2007 she directed the fairy-tale musical The Beauty and the Beast. In 2003 the theatre in Iasi engaged her as guest for the role of Reizl in God of Revenge by Shalom Ash. Simona Vintilă performed on tours in Romania and abroad.
